This is the seventh post in a daily series. Read about it here and see the list of previous posts here. A new post about “Star Wars” will be posted every day for 40 days leading up to the franchise’s 40th birthday on May 25th.

The lightsaber duels are some of the best parts of the “Star Wars” movies. They have the cool aspects of sword fights, but… they’re swords made out of lasers, and they do this cool whirring thing.

So, it’s not surprising that some brilliant YouTube users have uploaded videos of sword fights from movies with the swords replaced as lightsabers.

Why? Because it’s the Internet and there’s never a “why” needed more than that, that’s why.

Here are some of the best.

“Conan the Destroyer,” 1984

“The Princess Bride,” 1987
There are a few good ones from this, including Inigo Montoya vs. Westley..

…and Inigo Montoya vs. The Six-Fingered Man:

“Rob Roy,” 1995
This works especially well given that four years after this movie was released, Liam Neeson appeared in “The Phantom Menace.”

“Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” 2000

“The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,” 2001
With lightsabers, Arwen vs. The Nazgul is even more terrifying.

As is this scene:

“Batman Begins,” 2005
Again, having Liam Neeson in your swordfighting scene helps it easily translate into a lightsaber scene.

“Les Misérables,” 2012
With lightsabers, Arwen vs. The Nazgul is even more terrifying.
