This is the third post in a daily series. Read about it here and see the list of previous posts here. A new post about “Star Wars” will be posted every day for 40 days leading up to the franchise’s 40th birthday on May 25th.

One of the coolest things about Darth Vader is his voice, punctuated by his mechanical breathing (a sound so tied to the character that Lucasfilm had it trademarked with the US Patent and Trademark Office.)

Vader’s voice is that of James Earl Jones, who imbues the villain with unwavering authority and unforgiving coldness.

…and Darth Vader with Jar Jar Binks’s voice.

Then there’s the brilliant set of videos that pair Darth Vader with James Earl Jones’ voice from his other movies:

Darth Vader with James Earl Jones’s voice from his other movies, part 2

And after that, the videos get kind of out there.

There’s Darth Vader with Arnold Schwarzenegger’s voice:

And Darth Vader with Samuel L. Jackson’s voice:

And Darth Vader with Joe Pesci’s voice:

And Darth Vader with Nicolas Cage’s voice:

And Darth Vader with Stone Cold Austin’s voice:

And then there’s Darth Vader with Tobias Funke’s voice from “Arrested Development”:

And Darth Vader with Homer Simpson’s voice:

There’s a series of videos of Darth Vader with Bane’s voice from “The Dark Knight Rises”:

And for the sake of reciprocity, there’s Bane with Darth Vader’s voice:

And then there’s this rather bizarre video featuring Darth Vader with Donald Trump’s voice:
